Dear Friends and family,
I hope you all find yourselves well in God's
arms. We are well and blessed. I am finishing up my 2 months of practice of
nursing. Time went by fast, it seems, but I enjoyed the time I had at the
hospital. I am getting more familiar with giving out medicine, shots and
cleaning wounds. When I finish up my practice I will start working along
side my father with groups on the boat ministry.
Right now Chuck is continuing drilling wells in
remote villages. Giving clean fresh water where there is none. Rainy season
is just starting so it is a challenge to continue doing outside work.
Recently a lot of you have helped out on getting a new 15hp boat motor and
now he has started building a small boat for that motor. He is about half
finished with it already and will finish it when we get back from the
states. We head back to the states in the beginning of Sep. Where we will be
married on the 16th of Oct. and will stay for the Holidays. We
are looking forward to the visit in the states and getting use to married
life. We would would appreciate your prayers and any help as a new married
couple going and serving on the mission field. We are trying to get together
can goods or any foods that will survive the trip to Honduras. We are also
trying to raise enough finances for both our residency, which is about a
$1000 each. Please, keep us in your prayers as we begin this new journey,
not only as newly weds but as missionaries to Honduras. Thank you all for
being there for me through my schooling and with Chuck as he moved down to
Honduras to serve our Lord. Thank you again and may He keep you in peace and
love.
In our Father's arms,
Chuck Gehman and Katie Monterroso |

It's been 3 months since I've been back in
Honduras. My time here has been split up with different places,
ministries, and schooling. I'm continuing with my studies and will start
working at a health center as part of my practice. I've been working as a
translator and hostess, working with my father's groups. We have gone on
boat ministries up river with different teams giving out medicine, clothing
and also evangelizing. It has been a blessing getting to know people and
building relationships with them. They have encouraged me in many ways and I
want to say thank you. It means so much having you back at home praying for
me. Your prayers, thoughts and time are so encouraging to me. This year I am
trying to raise enough finances to get my residency here in Honduras. It is
required that at the age of 21, you have to have your own residency. You
can't carry your residency under your parents. The cost can vary between
$1000 to $1,500. It is so easy for me to say that I trust God and know he
can supply. But when it comes to practicing that I trust Him, it can be more
difficult. But without difficult times, how can relationships grow stronger?
I pray that I can trust had rely on Him through the hard times. Please pray
for me in this area. May all of us grow in trust in Him. I met a man (Chuck)
last year who was down in Honduras for a while doing mission work. Later he
went back to the US and we corresponded by email and phone. He has also
visited us some during our time in the states. He has returned to Honduras
and feels led to be a full time missionary and work with my father in
Missionary Without Boundaries. He has been working with us for these
last 3 months. We feel led to be married and work down here. After my year
of working in the health center in Belen, we are praying about working up in
Kurpa. Please pray for us as we pray for God's leading in our lives. We will
be married in
Mississippi
on October 16th of this year. Again thank you all for all your
prayers and support.

To all my friends and family in Christ,
May you all find yourselves in our Savior's caring arms.
Well, I am back in the USA for the holidays, but will be heading
back down to Honduras at the end of January. I'm looking forward and
am very excited to going back down on the mission field and getting
started. This last year I started nursing school and have one year
left to finish. With this year ending and 2010 coming up very soon I
look back and see how and what God has done in my life and how I
have used that. I see what and where God wants me. So I continue
with the calling. As we start this new year I want to encourage you
all to search Him and His plans for your life. Let us search and
wait for Him. I will be in Belen, Palacios, Ahuas, and Kurpa
working with "Missionaries without Boundaries," Frank Monterroso and
Nathan and Rebecca Lloyd-Jones. I will host mission groups,
translate and do medical trips. I will also be splitting up my
schooling time so that I can continue to work in different areas and
continue my schooling. I am looking forward to what God has for us
this year but we can't do this without your prayers and support. I
heard someone say that a boat without a driver is useless and in a
weird way it reminded me of missionaries. We as missionaries need
you and can't do this without your help. So please remember that you
are a huge part in all of this. The expenses for living down there
for the next 10 months will be around $2500. That includes
traveling and food expenses. If you would like to help make this
mission possible please contact us at 662-292-7137 or make checks
out to New Testament Church and send to 1343 Merryhill Ranch Road,
Senatobia, MS 38668. Thank you all and may He bless you.
